Science on the Rocks is a FREE event hosted once a month at Rhythm Room from 7-9pm.
Two scientific researchers from Los Angeles will each give a ~25 minute talk about their research. We reserve 15 minutes after each talk for a Q&A session to foster interesting dialogue and make sure everyone has the opportunity to engage with our speakers. Check out our October speakers below!
Normally, we prioritize Earth Sciences topics (hence our name), but we do showcase other STEM disciplines and have hosted speakers from evolutionary biology, neuroscience, astrophysics, and food science. Our past speakers have represented institutions such as: UCLA, USC, Caltech, the US Geological Survey, LA Pierce College, Milagro, and the Dinosaur Institute at the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County.
